One particular night Mr. L was bleeding from his foley catheter from a traumatic catheter insertion. Patricia was the assigned LPN for that patient. The doctor ordered CBI (continuous bladder irrigation) to keep urine clear and free from blood clots. The patient was very anxious and uncomfortable to say the least and also very concerned about the bleeding. Patricia stayed with that patient and provided the utmost care to alleviate the patient's anxiety and discomfort. Patricia is not just an LPN, she’s also certified on Reiki and Prana healing. She’s also done care using Chakra atonement and Chi medicine to better her patient’s conditions. That night, Patricia made sure that Mr. L received the best possible care. She applied her knowledge on her field of expertise and I saw how she made the patient feel better. Mr. L went to sleep after his anxiety was relieved with Pat’s dedicated care. For her special and unselfish ways of taking good care of the veterans, she is being honored with the DAISY Award.
