...Natalie is an advocate for all the patients on the CADD unit. She communicates with parents to ensure that the care their children receive is consistent with their expectations for hospitalization. She consistently ensures that the she is providing patient and family centered care. She understands that every patient is an individual and should be treated as an individual. She understands the importance of the therapeutic relationship and strives to ensure the patients and their families are heard and seen. She checks in on families during visits to ensure that the visits are going well and that families have everything they need to have a successful visit with their loved one. She eagerly takes on new challenges. She demonstrates commitment not only to the CADD unit but to Bradley nurses across the hospital.

In 2014, in preparation for the build EPIC, Natalie took part in developing core nursing diagnoses and interventions for the EPIC project. She also took the lead on developing a poster presentation on what it means for a nurses to "own their practice" for the 2014 Nurses' Week Celebration. In honor of CADD and all nurses, she transformed her post into a large PECs system, symbolizing that it is important to be able to communicate across all populations of children and adolescents. Natalie has great time management skills and runs her shift efficiently to ensure all nursing tasks/admissions/nursing care activities are completed before the end of her shift. She delivers feedback in a constructive manner to ensure that she promotes safety and quality patient care. You will often find Natalie on the milieu floor assisting staff inpatient care and ensuring that the implementations of all programs are being completed. She collaborates with all of the members of the nursing department on creative ways to decrease the use of seclusion/restraints. In addition, she collaborates to develop alternate means of de-escalating patients.

Natalie can effectively run a shift; she is very responsible, dependable and accountable. She consistently offers to help out her colleagues, respects others' opinions, engages with all disciplines in a collaborative manner and values colleagues as important team members. Natalie works well with all members of the clinical team. She is a strong advocate for patient care and program changes that support the wellness and growth of the patients on CADD. Natalie worked with OT on the aromatherapy research trial that was conducted on CADD. She assisted in data collection and research in order to promote evidence based best practices. Natalie always helps out her colleagues and will switch or pick up shifts on the schedule as needed. She displays a highly positive attitude on the unit and welcomes change. If there is ever a concern regarding best practice, Natalie consistently attempts to develop a solution focused plan to provide great care. Natalie will send out emails to the whole team with ideas or suggestions to facilitate care and to ask for feedback. She embraces organizational goals, priorities, and strategies, as evidenced by her willingness to learn and become involved. Her actions and ideas are consistently aligned with the mission, vision and values of Bradley Hospital and the nursing department.
