We truly believe that our daughter would not have recovered as quickly without the care and support of Leslie Scheetz. As first time parents with a normal pregnancy, the thought never crossed our mind that upon delivery, our child would be taken to the NICU. However, that is exactly what happened to us.
Our daughter was struggling to breathe, and she was placed on a BiPAP machine to help her condition. As a precaution, she was kept for a week in NICU as she was monitored and treated. It was one of our nurses in the NICU who truly went above and beyond, providing exceptional care to our daughter.
Upon first meeting Leslie, we were immediately updated on our baby's status. Leslie took her time providing details about all of our baby's care, making sure we understood what was happening. We later realized that this was just the beginning of the incredible care we would receive from Leslie. She always made sure that we were well informed and that our daughter was cared for with compassion. We never had to ask for an update from Leslie. She always greeted us with any new information and made us feel like we had her undivided attention even while she was managing several other patients. She invited us to be active participants in our daughter's recovery, helping us set goals and participate in major milestones as first-time parents. Leslie helped us both hold our daughter for the first time as well as give her the first sponge bath.
We later learned that Leslie's daughter spent time in NICU. There is no doubt that this allowed Leslie to empathize with us and gave her the special ability to know exactly how to calm our nerves and offer support. It was Leslie's care and concern that left an unforgettable mark on us. We are confident that our daughter would not have recovered as quickly without the care, support, and compassion from Leslie.
