My mother is a resident at a skilled nursing facility in Concord. She has dementia and fell injuring the back of her head and had to be brought to the Emergency Room for evaluation. Unfortunately I was out of town and was unable to be with her. When I was notified, I immediately called the Emergency Room. The patient representatives were very reassuring and helpful in reporting that Mother was there and was being attended to. I was told that they would ask her nurse to give me a call, if she had a minute.

Within 20 minutes, Karrie called me with all the details on Mother's condition. She said I could call her back as often as I wanted, which I did. Upon my mother's release late that evening, the skilled nursing facility advised Karrie and me that their policy did not require them to pick up my mother and return her to the facility. You can imagine my dismay and anger. I, and my family, were preparing to drive 4 hours back to Concord to transport her. Karrie asked me to stay put and reassured me that she would take care of getting Mother safely back.

Karrie went above and beyond the call of duty to obtain transportation. Mom was safely returned to the facility. Karrie was very calm and reassuring in handling a very stressful situation for me and my family.

CMC-NorthEast is very fortunate to have excellent staff and an excellent nurse in your employment. My family and I will be forever grateful!
