...Linda had abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery on Friday, February 28, 2014. I live in Miami, Florida but the following Friday I arrived at Memorial University Medical Center to assess the grave situation that our family faced with Linda as she was on life support.

Upon arrival in Linda's room, I introduced myself to Karen Morgan and told her who I was. I also asked her if it was okay if I asked her tons of questions about Linda's condition/state. And this is when Karen answered every single question I had. I was able to take all of my answers and update all the worried family members: from Savannah, GA. to Jacksonville, FL to Dallas, TX to San Francisco, CA to Statesboro, GA to Kaiserslautern, Germany (where her son is stationed) of her state and the treatment plan that doctors and nurses were working aggressively on to help our family member.

The following Monday, Karen was aggressively working to cause a change in Linda's state. She was trying to get her out of the sleepy state and beyond face twitches to actually waking up, opening her eyes and movement of her fingers, hands, and feet. Karen was diligent and steadfast in her approach to help Linda recover. Karen, Jessica & Flora took care of my family member when she was at her sickest point.

I know for sure that Karen is an Angel and I left CVICU that weekend with a renewed HOPE that Linda would recover. And I also left wondering where Karen hides her wings.

Linda was discharged on two weeks later from the hospital and we are happy to have her back as herself and back at home continuing to recover!
