I nominate Jessica "Jessie" Miranda for the DAISY Award. Jessie is from Washington, and is a proud Washington State University graduate, who worked as a nurse tech for a while before becoming a registered nurse on 4 West. Jessie has been working for Harrison Medical Center for about 10 years, and during that time has been a role model to many. She is highly regarded and respected by her co-workers on 4 West. She is a very hard worker; no job is too big or small for Jessie. She advocates for her patients, performs her tasks well, and ALWAYS finds time to help others be it a patient, a co-worker, or other allied staff.

Jessie is often called upon to be a charge nurse on her floor. She is a great charge nurse, leading by example and making others want to work as hard as she does and be as organized as her. We make sure we work to the very best of our abilities because that is how Jessie works all of the time!

I, like many others, try to emulate Jessie's energy and dedication. She is a significant constant on weekend night shift and evening shifts. She is knowledgeable and remains calm in the most stressful situations. She educates staff and is never too busy to lend a hand. She promotes healthy morale and never leaves staff unassisted. She makes you feel comfortable and want to be a part of the team. She encourages us to learn and makes our work enjoyable and rewarding. She speaks of Harrison Medical Center with high regard, providing a positive impression to co-workers and patients alike. I hope we have more nurses like Jessica Miranda. She is a solid representation of what Harrison Medical Center stands for.
