My son has been here one month, and the last 5 days he has been on the neuro floor. Things are looking up, but over the weekend there was uncomfortable signs coming from him. His machine alarms kept sounding and he was sleeping a lot, not reacting as he has been. While others kept changing out the feeding tubes and moving the polsox cable and such, nothing improved. Shift change came and the cna did vitals and kept going.

I went out and asked Jee if she had just a moment could she check something for me. Immediately she responded, upon checking him she noticed his elevated heart rate and real dryness; she felt further attention was needed. Within minutes, she researched the day's events, noticed he hadn't been given any pain meds all day, called his doctor and began what I call the rescue and save process. Before I knew it, she had his pain meds in him, had ordered an ekg, chest x-ray, blood work, etc. and stayed in contact with the doctor. She got back all the results and found out my son, with a TBI, had been dehydrated and needed his medications.

I thank her for her immediate attention and dedication and concern for my son's well being, as well as comforting me. All she quietly said was, "you are welcome, it is my job to make sure he is ok and he will be". She was so humble about it. This little gal spent her shift caring for her patients and making sure my son was safe through the night and that I was ok, and this was a result of her ongoing commitment, dedication, and love of what she chose as a career, helping people be well.

What an amazing young lady she is. When in her care you can be sure you are getting the best. I will forever be grateful to you Jee Lee.
