I was in the hospital for the treatment for a bout of atrial fibrillation, and on Oct 31 while in the bathroom, I fell and hit my head on the floor. Heather Sabo was my attending nurse, and I believe she demonstrated the finest qualities of the nursing profession. She somehow got me back to the bed and instantly assembled a team of individuals to try to bring me back to consciousness. Through it all Heather was there encouraging me and telling me that I would be alright. She held my hand as I was taken for a brain scan and urged me to stay awake with a kind voice and a gentle pressure on my hand. She remained attentive to my needs when I returned to the room and ensured that I was as comfortable as I could be given the circumstances.

The quick decisions and coordination of all those assisting while remaining calm and supportive demonstrated a high level of professionalism, respect, and competence at the very highest level. She made me feel like I was her only patient and my problem was the most important.

What makes this more remarkable to me is that this accident occurred near the end of her shift when she had to be tired. She must have been exhausted by the time she completed the paperwork and was finally able to put her shift behind her. I cannot thank her enough for the quality of her care and the kindness and compassion she demonstrated.

Please let her know that not only is she appreciated for the care in this incident but also for the care she provided the entire time I was in her care.
