A patient writes:
In October I was scheduled for a liver biopsy as an outpatient. Hannah Vess took me back to the prep area. As we are walking down the hall she asked if I knew what we would be doing that day, I told her, “not really”. She immediately could tell I was very nervous and quickly attempted to ease my fears. She assured me I would be asleep and she would make sure I would not feel a thing.
She made sure that my husband was there with me before and after. We thought how good she was at her job. She stayed with me the whole time and while that may be procedure, she made me feel at ease. The last thing I remember before going to sleep was Hannah holding my hand. That is not protocol, that’s someone who is compassionate and who loves her job.
I wanted you to know what a gem you have in Hannah. I am a breast cancer survivor and I have witnessed how God puts people in your path when you need them. He definitely gave me Hannah that day. If I ever have to have anything else done, I hope I have a “Hannah” to hold my hand.
Hannah’s Nurse Manager writes:
Hannah is open and honest with her patients when explaining procedures and reassures them that they will be well taken care of. She is very knowledgeable and other team members look to her for advice. She is a hard worker who is always responsible for her actions and is dependable. She always has the best interest of the patient in mind and does what it takes to get the job done. She goes above and beyond with both patients and peers. She continually looks to improve processes.
