Little X was diagnosed with a form of Atexia. He found it hard to control his balance in the bed he had been placed in originally and had frequent involuntary encounters with the bed's metal railings. After sensing my concern about the situation, Chad recommended that we place my son in a bed with no metal railings and, within hours, it was done. I could sleep soundly knowing that X could be comfortable in his bed.

The patient's mom called this morning to advise she would absolutely be at the DAISY presentation, but they can't attend, her son is INPT at another hospital right now. She wanted to reiterate how great a nurse Chad is, all the nurses at Children's that she has worked with ROCK! Mom said when Chad was her nurse she was here for the first time and her baby had just been diagnosed. She really didn't understand her role in the situation and that Chad was just so helpful and made her comfortable. She shared that when she saw the information on how to do a DAISY Award nomination as they were discharging, she told herself to go to the website to make a nomination because Chad was so great! Mom said it was important for us to know how much she appreciated Chad and how important it is for us to know why she can't be here.
