...As our 86-year old husband, father and grandfather lay dying in ICU, nurse Carla Puller was the epitome of the calming presence we needed during this time. Though we were impressed by all his caregivers, the steady, friendly, firm and drama-free professionalism Carla provided was invaluable. Compassionate, open and honest, she not only provided excellent care for our loved one in his last hours, but she made sure we were all taken care of as well. She treated our loved one with respect and dignity and shared just the right amount of empathy with the family. She kept us informed, spoke to us intelligently and clearly and was never impatient or in a hurry. She took her time answering our many questions and provided thorough explanations. Over the long hours and days she made sure we ate something, stayed hydrated and encouraged us to rest. She knew when to speak up, when not to interrupt and even made us laugh; all the while providing Kleenex for our tears. Her patient, as well as the entire family could not have been in better hands.

This is what a PCRMC DAISY nurse looks like: demonstrating extraordinary, compassionate, family-centered care.

Thank You Carla! You are a role model in our PCRMC nursing community!
