My grandmother was admitted to St. Al's Nampa over Labor Day weekend with complications from some new medications prescribed by her PCP.

On Saturday August 30th I took my kids in to see their great-grandma on the medical unit on the 3rd floor. I did not tell April that I worked for St. Al's because it really didn't matter - I was just there visiting my grandma with my family. April was very kind and answered all of our questions (my wife had quite a few). Then April asked if my kids would like some ice cream, hoping grandma would join them since she had not eaten all day. My grandma was able to respond and had ice cream with my kids. We had a few laughs and some smiles, little did we know it would be the last time we would see her. A few days later she passed away suddenly at Karcher Estates.

I will always fondly remember the last time my kids were able to spend with their great-grandma. It is now a very special memory and it is all because April brought in ice cream!

She really showed me what "GRACE" is! I just wanted to thank her for showing compassion and taking time out of her busy day for my family.
