The night my daughter had her tumor removed was the worst night of my life. She was in pain and needed exceptional care. My husband had gone home and I was alone in the room when Amanda came in. It was like God had sent hope to me. She was delightful and kind in her treatment to my daughter. She also took the time to calm my fears and even gave me a shoulder to cry on. She constantly had a smile on for those around her and seemed to be happy to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

I was a Pre-Nursing student and seeing my daughter go through this made me question if I really wanted to be a nurse, especially since my hope is to work with children. Being the recipient of Amanda's compassion and strength, gave me a refreshing look at what I could do with my own abilities. She gave new life to my dream. I am now and forever will be indebted to her for the priceless gift that she gave me. I believe that she should not only be acknowledged with this award but with the highest recognition for not just a job well done but for going above and beyond and the job becoming her passion.
