Back in October 2019, my daughter was rushed to Dell's, her case to this day is rare and complicated. She was at Dell for 2 months. We have stayed on the 2nd floor, 3rd floor, souths, Centrals and norths. I must say, there is something special about 4 - south. It is the absolute best floor to be on. We've had the privilege of meeting most of your 4 - south nurses. My goodness! They are AMAZING!! We've also had the privilege of meeting Miss Cheryl. We thank the Lord for allowing us to meet such a wonderful, loving, caring person. Not only can you see the love she has for her job, but you can also feel the love she has for all the wonderful staff at Dell. Cheryl has a special place in our hearts. You can see the true love she has for ALL the patients. I can truly say she loves my daughter very much. She has ALWAYS made us feel loved, she makes us feel like family. She wants the absolute best for EVERYONE! patients, their families, your hospital, and all of your wonderful staff. She makes sure your child is receiving the best care. She will make sure you and your child are comfortable. When she asks, if there is anything she can do for you, she absolutely means it. That's the kind of care you receive on 4 - south! You become family to them. Your amazing nurses not only do an excellent job caring for their patients, but they truly care and will go the extra mile for their patients and their families. The nurses on four south have a special kind of heart. They have a heart of gold! I know this email will be a long email, but my heart can not keep all these amazing experiences to itself. I feel Dell should know they have an AMAZING unit full of magnificent nurses, techs, and EEG techs. 4 - south, truly a special place to be. I would like to praise some of our four south nurses who will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Breanna - Day Shift.
Breanna was one of the first nurses we had when my daughter woke up from her coma. When we were down in the PICU, most of the time my daughter had a one on one nurse if not they only had one more patient to care for. I was a tad bit worried when we were moved out of PICU. I wasn't sure if we would have a nurse nearby if my daughter took a turn for the worst. I thank God, he sent us Miss Bre. She always makes you feel like you are her only patient. She is a loving, caring, attentive nurse. She put all my worries to rest. My daughter was going through crazy withdrawals, she wouldn't sleep. Miss Bre would enter our room and hum songs to my daughter. She would comfort her as much as she could. I truly appreciate that very much. When Miss Bre enters the room she brings this peace and calmness with her. She would go out of her way to make sure my daughter and we were comfortable. Miss Bre is a phenomenal nurse. She's an experienced nurse who trains the new nurses. I enjoy watching her train. She's one of the best nurses you all have on four south. Miss Bre will make sure you as a parent knew what medications your child was receiving. My child has a lot of medications, she always made sure we were up to date with any new changes. You can ask her all the questions you like, and she would answer them all. If she doesn't know the answer to your question, she will go and find the answer. As a parent of a child whose chart is super long, I appreciate nurses who will take the time to answer our questions. It can easily become overwhelming and confusing for parents. This was all back in October/November. My daughter was recently rushed to the hospital due to cluster seizures. Miss Bre was not my daughter's nurse at the time (we had a new nurse who won our hearts as well ), Miss Bre still took the time to answer my questions and helped to get my daughter the care she needed. You all have a magnificent nurse.
Lilianna - Night Shift.
We had the privilege of meeting this amazing nurse back in October/ November of 2019. My daughter had just woken up from her coma and was having a hard time. She was going through withdrawals, had some bleeding in her stomach, so many other things going on. My daughter was not sleeping at all. Lilianna is the quietest nurse Dell has. Trust me it helps so much to have such a quiet, very talented nurse. Sleep is very important to the body when it's healing. Lilianna was our night nurse for a couple of nights. She was a new nurse, which I would have NEVER guessed. The only reason why I knew that, was because I had asked her how many years she has been doing this. My husband and I were blown away! She is an amazing nurse! My daughter has a LONG chart with several medications throughout the day, things can easily be looked over by accident but, not once did I have to worry when we have Lilianna, she's on top of things! As a mother who's very much involved in all her children's lives, it feels nice to be able to take a moment to breathe, a sense of relief knowing your child is in wonderful hands. She always makes you feel like you are her only patient that night. My daughter has monthly infusions and we look forward to seeing our amazing nurses, Miss Lilianna has a special place in our hearts! We can see the love that she has for my child and for our family. She has always made us feel like family. We talk about Lilianna a lot to our family and they cannot wait to meet her. Since we do make monthly trips to Dell, we have had the privilege of seeing Lilianna blossom into a phenomenal nurse! I have had the privilege of seeing her as a charge nurse. She was AMAZING!! She did such a fantastic job managing the entire floor. I was blown away!! I am so proud of her! Dell is blessed to have such a wonderful nurse. When I see the new nurses, I can tell which ones were trained by Miss Lilianna. She does a wonderful job training and passing down her amazing talent. We love her dearly but just recently, our love for her has grown even more. My daughter was having cluster seizures they were starting to pick up, Lilianna and our amazing nurse Megan acted fast, they planned ahead, got the doctors involved. Our nurses and our PCRS doctors worked very well together. We were all waiting to hear back from my daughter's specialist. Her seizures were picking up and things were not looking good. Lilianna did not stop, she went above and beyond, she made sure my daughter received the care she needed. Her quick thinking and planning ahead, being a very talented and attentive nurse kept my child safe and alive. I cannot thank her enough for that! I know I'm repeating myself, but, I really need you all to know, Dell has been blessed with one of the best nurses this world has!
Andrea - Day shift (charge nurse for most of the time)
We met Ms. Andrea back in 2019. She is a sweet, caring, talented, attentive nurse. She is on top of things. When she hears we are there, she always makes sure to swing by and say hi. She has always made us feel loved and welcomed. She always offers to help us in any way she can. She makes sure our stay is going well. I can see the love she has for my child and I can't thank her enough for the love and care she shows all of us.
Laura- Day shift
We met Laura this recent hospital stay. My daughter was having cluster seizures and they were picking up. Things were not looking too good. Our PCRS doctors and night time nurses were doing an excellent job trying to do their absolute best to make sure my daughter received the best care. When it was shift change we met Miss Laura. She was amazing. Things were moving fast, a lot of things happening all at once. Because of the situation with my daughter's seizures and being on the verge of possibly being moved to the PICU. She jumped right in and blew us away! She was on top of things. Planning ahead. Getting things organized and ready to go just in case my daughter had to be moved to the PICU, all while she cared for my daughter and gave her the many rescue medications she needed. She went above and beyond for my child. She was an attentive nurse. She helped us advocate for my daughter and I cannot thank her enough for that! She made sure my daughter received the care she needed. We were blessed to have her as our nurse that day. We had the privilege of having her, after spending days down in the PICU, we were moved back up to 4-south. We were on 4- south for a couple of days before having Laura. There were many many medications changes, my husband and I were overwhelmed and confused. Miss Laura helped us by catching us up on all of my daughter's medication changes. Miss Laura has a special place in our hearts. We look forward to seeing her and having her as our nurse. She's a very special nurse and Dell is blessed to have her.
Karina - Nightshift
We met Karina back in 2019. She was a new nurse in training. We recently stayed on the fourth floor and had the blessing of having Miss Karina as our night nurse. My heart was filled with joy! We had not seen her in a while. To see her now and see how much she has grown as a nurse, filled my heart with joy. It is a blessing to be able to see your nurses blossom into extraordinary nurses. That night my daughter was having trouble with her oxygen. Karina did a fantastic job taking care of my daughter. She's such a sweet, loving, caring, attentive nurse. She brings us so much joy! She goes above and beyond for her patients. She has always made us feel like family. I can see the love she has for our daughter and for us. I cannot thank her enough for all that she has done for my child.
Courtney- Day shift
We met Courtney for the first time at this recent hospital stay. She immediately won our hearts. You could see the love she had for not only our child but for us. She is an amazing, caring, loving, talented nurse! She goes above and beyond for all of her patients. She made sure everything was organized and up to date on my daughter's chart. There were a lot of medication changes. My daughter has a lot of different specialists, things can get a little confusing. I am grateful she's a nurse who is attentive and on top of things. She caught a medication that fell through the cracks. So blessed to have her as our nurse. You can see the love she has not only for the patients, but you see the love she has for the families, her job, her coworkers. Miss Courtney has a heart of gold! She made us feel so loved and welcomed. We look forward to seeing and having her as our nurse. Dell has amazing nurses. Whoever is in charge of hiring does a fantastic job of choosing the best.
Amanda - Nightshift
I enjoy having Ms. Amanda as our nurse. We met her back in 2019 and look forward to seeing her and having her as our nurse. She brings so much happiness into our room. She always makes us smile and laugh. She always makes us feel like family. She does a fantastic job of caring for our daughter. I can see the love she has for my daughter. I love how she takes the time to get to know her patients and their families. She makes sure everyone is feeling comfortable. She goes above and beyond for all of her patients. It is such a pleasure to have her as our nurse.
Megan - Night Shift
We had the privilege of meeting her for the first time this past hospital stay. We have met several nurses, but my husband and I were super impressed when we met Megan. She's a new nurse, but my goodness, she's already a WONDERFUL nurse! We adore her personality. She is on top of things! She's organized, talented, loving. She goes the extra mile for all of her patients. She takes the time to get to know her patients and their families. She will always make you feel like you are her only patient. She has made us feel so loved. She makes us feel like family. I could see the love she had for my little girl and that brings so much joy to my heart. We look forward to seeing her and having her as our nurse. You all have amazing nurses! Megan will always have a special place in our hearts!
Zac- Night Shift
We met Zac at his recent hospital stay. There was a lot going on, a lot of medication changes, us being moved from the PICU up to the fourth floor. My daughter was still having seizures, going on days with hardly any sleep. There were changes constantly being made to her care. Zac was catching me up and I was overwhelmed. I hardly ever let it overcome me to where I break down. Zac did an EXCELLENT of comforting me. He took the time to ease my worries. He is the kind of nurse who will not only go above and beyond for his patients but for their families as well. He cared for my daughter so well. He was on top of everything! He's a smart, very talented nurse! He has a nurse's heart! Super attentive nurse! I cannot thank him enough for all that he has done for my child and for my husband and me. He has won our hearts! We look forward to seeing him and having him as our nurse.
Pri - Night Shift
We met Pri at this recent hospital stay. We had just moved up from being in the PICU. We had Pri as our nurse and we are so grateful God sent us such a wonderful nurse. We were once again blown away! She's such a talented, loving, caring, attentive nurse. She's on top of everything. She plans ahead. She goes above and beyond for her patients. She always makes you feel loved. She takes the time to get to know her patients and build a bond with them. She's made my husband and I feel like family. I could immediately see the love she has for my child. Brings us so much joy to see the love they have for my child. I was able to rest during the night because I knew she was in great hands.
During this recent stay, my daughter's oxygen dropped fast. That has never happened before. Lilianna was the charge nurse that night. I called out for Lilianna and she immediately came. Since she has been our nurse many times before and knows my daughter so well, she immediately knew something was not right. She stayed so calm which helped us stay calm. She acted quickly. Took care of my daughter so well. Called the doctors and RT, as she was attending my daughter. I could see the love she has for my child. My husband and I were so happy Miss Lilianna was there that night. As my daughter's oxygen continued to drop all of the other amazing nurses we have had in the past also came in and immediately started to help in any way they could. They all did an excellent job and worked so well together. We could see how much they truly love my daughter. We cannot thank your nurses enough! Dell is truly blessed with the best!
