2LT Lane is a caring, kind and totally dedicated to superior quality service and patient care. I consider her an ANGEL. ON Aug 15, in the early AM, I experienced a horrible nightmare (later explained as hospital delirium) in which I called LT Lane a devil and felt captive. With kindness and maturity beyond her years, LT Lane helped bring me back to reality. I'll never forget this deeply shocking episode and the wonderful young nurse who so capably stayed with me, and accepted my apologies so gracefully. She deserves recognition and commendation. I'll always remember her as as an angel.

Unfortunately, the patient who wrote this passed away on Aug 29th, but her son was so touched by LT Lane's compassion, he took the time to submit a DAISY Nomination for her, echoing his mother's sentiment.

I met LT Lane on a morning visit to my mom after a most difficult night. According to my mom, the previous night she really put the LT through the wringer and really felt awful about how she responded to her. Though my mom's health was failing, she was proud of her cognitive thinking and to be even just momentarily not in control of her thoughts really scared her. LT Lane handled my mom with a lot of grace and respect, especially when she was so delusional.

She is an inspiration to others and truly deserves this award as she has a very kind and servant's heart.

If I may, the Bible (amplified version) defines a Servants Heart in Philippians 2: 3-5:

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit [through factional motives, or strife], but with [an attitude of] humility [being neither arrogant nor self-righteous], regard others as more important than yourselves. Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this same attitude in yourselves which was in Christ Jesus [look to Him as your example in selfless humility]

LT Lane definitely cares for her patients. These are the people we want around us in our time of need! Most of all, I APPRECIATE LT Lane for her kind Servants Heart to my mom and to others.
