Whether it is assisting her colleagues, helping a patient go for a walk, or simply sitting and holding a patients' hands, she gives 110% every single time.

Lauren Iudiciani was nominated by a colleague nurse who was able to see Lauren as both a student nurse and co-worker in the Mayo Health system. She writes of Lauren, “I am honored to nominate Lauren for the DAISY in Training Award. I first had the pleasure of meeting Lauren  a few years back while she served as a board member for the Student Nurses' Association of Arizona. Since that time, I have been blessed to work alongside her taking care of patients at Mayo Clinic as well as working collaboratively with her beyond the walls of the patient room. As a student, she is very bright and dedicated to her studies. I have seen her talk about her scholarly projects and the future that she envisions. She thinks outside of the box and is engaged in ways to improve the care that is delivered for patients. For Lauren, the nursing profession is an absolute calling. It is as clear as day when you see her interact with her patients. In her role as a Patient Care Technician and as a nurse extern, she has always upheld the Mayo motto of "The needs of the patient come first". Whether it is assisting her colleagues, helping a patient go for a walk, or simply sitting and holding a patients' hands, she gives 110% every single time. Lauren genuinely cares for her patients and there is no question that she will continue to do so as she progresses along her career. Lauren recognizes the importance of contributing to her workplace, and truly enjoys being involved. Furthermore, I have seen her continue to develop her leadership skills. She displays great professionalism and holds herself to high standards. Lauren understands the value of being involved in her professional organization, and sees the importance of authentic leadership. I know that Lauren will continue to grow as a nurse leader in our community and I look forward to her contributions to come in the future. She is a beautiful soul and I am so thankful that I can call her a colleague. She truly embodies the spirit of caring, and blessed are those who will receive her care.
