Lacey attended her HELLP rotation and had the opportunity to get to know an elderly patient that was extremely hard of hearing, though otherwise was neurologically intact. This patient was in his 90's and struggled with writing and reading handwriting to get his needs met. Lacey acquired an iPad and downloaded an app that would listen and type what was being said to make the process easier for the patient. The patient was so thankful. This is an example of going above and beyond to demonstrate compassionate care.
