My father was at Baylor Scott and White when he passed away. I was overwhelmed with the care of all the nurses on 8 North. They were all great and compassionate. One nurse, Yolanda, really went above and beyond in my opinion. One evening my dad was struggling and she stayed after her shift was supposed to end to help figure out what was going on with him. Words cannot really describe the care and compassion she gave that evening. As I think about her sitting with him, trying to figure out what was wrong and just making him calm that night, I truly know that he got the best care during the last few days of his life. At the time I was unaware that he would not be with us in just a short few days. I just want her to know that every time I think of her, tears come to my eyes and my heart is thankful. I wanted to tell her that she made a difference because of who she is as a nurse and obviously a great person.
