There were several projects that the Women's Center worked together on as a team that qualified them for The DAISY Team Award.
• The Baby-Friendly Journey - this team conducted research, developed policies, and implemented changes to ensure that the best evidence-based care is being provided to our newborns and their Mommies. The accreditation team will be conducting their visit soon.
• Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome - By October 2020, all staff will be trained so that the unit can be designated as a Center for Excellence. All staff is required to complete 18 modules that provide education on different aspects of this syndrome.
• Policies and protocols were developed based on best practice and were initiated surrounding Post-Partum Hemorrhage, Acute Hypertension in Pregnancy, Maternal Sepsis, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome.
• This unit goes above and beyond to prove that they all are devoted to patient care. Their priority is the safety and wellbeing of the babies born here and their Mommies.
