Wilson was nominated by a patient in the Infusion Center for quickly and professionally untangling a problem. The patient's RA doctor didn't order the additional IV meds to accompany her Rituxan and Wilson was there to solve the issue. Wilson reviewed the patient's medical history and explained every aspect of her treatment. He made sure she was comfortable and answered all her questions. "I felt safe and comfortable with the procedure with Wilson at the helm. He was exceptional!" the patient said.

Wilson's co-worker refers to him as Wilson "Honey" Nyamwatta and describes him as "a mighty fine nurse." She says he is caring, patients feel comfortable around him, and he is a pleasure to work with. Wilson's clinical manager said she had the pleasure of being Wilson's preceptor over five years ago and has watched him grow as a nurse since then. Wilson regularly precepts students and new nurses in Oncology, sharing his knowledge and insight. He is an invaluable member of our Oncology team. She described Wilson as a favorite of every patient he cares for in Oncology. He gives his patients the emotional support they need to deal with the difficult diagnoses they have been given and has a way of making every patient and their family members feel special, as if they are the only patient he has to care for.
Wilson appears calm and unrushed no matter how busy he is. Routinely, patients tell us how kind and compassionate Wilson is and that they would like to take him home with them to continue their care.
Because of Wilson's compassionate and caring efforts, his patients experience a level of care that exemplifies the impact nurses have in creating an environment where patients and families feel at home.
