Each of the VA ICARE principles was demonstrated completely while William Steidley cared for my husband, a veteran, and our family. He was extremely kind and compassionate, as well as attentive at all times with us, answering questions with patience. If he did not have the answer he would find out and get right back to us. He was always respectful to my husband, who was sometimes hard to understand. It was so obvious to us that he loves being a nurse and is proud of working for the VA. We were able to ask any questions and express any concerns. He was so patient, respectful, knowledgeable and helpful. We are seniors and came in here worried and scared because we did not know what was wrong, but William was so comforting and supportive.
William has an upbeat personality which really helped after the bad news we received about my husband. He showed that he cared and explained things to us in a way that we needed, to be strong. He took the time to explain everything to our kids as well. He continually checked on us all day.
