Wendy has been a nurse for 24 years, receiving her certification in Medical-Surgical nursing in 1996. During her nursing career, she has worked in many different areas including medical-surgical, orthopedics, cardiopulmonary, telemetry, neurology and neurosurgery. Wendy has also worked in several states including California, Louisiana, and Florida while accompanying her husband in his various Coast Guard assignments. Wendy entered into critical care nursing in 2007 and worked in Trauma and Neuro Intensive Care Units until coming to Connerton in 2011.

Being diagnosed with Type I diabetes at the age of 13 led Wendy on the path to becoming a Registered Nurse and she has spent a majority of her career involved in the care and education of diabetic patients as a Certified Diabetes Educator, Insulin Pump Clinical Resource/Educator, and as a bedside nurse. A huge supporter of educating new nurses, Wendy has been an Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor since 2006. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nurses.
