Wally was surprised with his DAISY Award at 5:30 am on a day he was working! Committee members and Nursing Administrator, Dana Hale, presented Wally with the award certificate, award winner pin, Healer's Touch statue, daisy bouquet, daisy seeds, balloons, daisy kleenex, and Cinnabon cinnamon rolls and cinnamon. It was a pleasure to bring the award to the night shift at hour hospital. Here is an excerpt from his nomination letter:

"I had the privilege to be taken care of by Wally and let me tell you...TAKING CARE of the patient was his first and foremost goal and he OWNED that! He made sure that I was comfortable at all times. He explained things that he did not even have to explain but because my husband had questions, Wally answered them. He was down to earth, kind, nurturing and took care of business. When shift time ended and he was leaving to go home Wally came in and made sure I was OK, let me know that he was leaving and he still took care of one more thing before he left.

During Wally's watch, I felt like I was the MOST important case in there...I will come back to LMH BECAUSE OF HIM. He obviously knows how to keep people's minds off of pain too. He noticed that I had on my dog paw print slippers and started talking about dogs with me and my husband and it took my mind of the pain instantly."

Congratulations to Wallace Brannen!
