Waed was one of the best nurses who dealt with my son T. She played games like air guns, which made him like her and kept him asking for her even when she was not working.
Whenever he saw her, he said, "you are caught, "raise your hands." She established a special connection with my son.
She gave him a symbolic gift which was a "snowball", he likes it too much, and he still informs our family about it.
One day, T expressed his fear and anxiety due to frequent blood sampling in the Pediatric ICU. Waed spoke with him many times about how this procedure can help doctors and nurses in doing the best for his health condition and providing appropriate treatment to him. She also communicated T's concern with his physician and asked him about the ability to decrease the number of blood sample withdrawals if his case allowed. A few days later, the physician agreed to reduce the number of blood sampling to two times weekly instead of daily, and this was after reviewing T's health status and medical records. This made T very happy!
Thank you, Waed, for your kindness and for being caring all the time.
