I, for one, believe that positivity brings positivity, like Nurse Tyler's actions of compassion.

This is the second time in my eight years’ experience in and out of the hospital for G's illnesses or surgeries that we found a diamond in the rough in meeting Nurse Tyler during an overnight shift. Immediately during our first encounter with Tyler, he was very informative about G's past care and the care that shall be received during ICU post-operative, explaining in great detail the orders that are called for G and how G's personality had been with it, all in such a positive manner.

I, for one, believe that positivity brings positivity, like Nurse Tyler's actions of compassion, all the while giving care to G with step-by-step exactness for what treatments or actions of care were to be taking place. All the while, G is quite the “grump" because of pain and recovery after his back surgery, but Nurse Tyler, – aka "super smart nurse" – diverted G's focus from his un-comfortability by asking G questions about how he felt and if could do certain things in regard to his care for G, lowering the irritability in an entirely different approach internally or just being Tyler.

If more nurses – male or female – can shadow Tyler and possibly obtain some of the blessings that his nursing care gives, it would lift a great weight from parents’ shoulders as he is remarkable.

I am blessed to have Nurse Tyler able to take part in care for G. G is bedridden for now, but even better, we had Nurse Tyler!
