My mother and my sister were leaving Grand Island when they were hit head-on by a pickup going the wrong way in their lane. My mother was in very serious condition and was brought up to ICU. My sister was taken to the 5th floor. My sister was released 2 days later and still recovering from her injuries.
My mother was very serious, and she only opened her eyes for 5 seconds for me on Tuesday. The nurse on duty was Tracy. Tracy met me outside of mom's room and told me her condition and all that she and the team of doctors were doing for her. My extended family was in the waiting room.
Tracy came out several times and sat down with us, charts in hand, to go over everything the doctors were doing for mom. I appreciate so much Tracy updating us and sitting down in the waiting room going over things and answering questions. She talked to all the family and included them, not just me, so everyone was aware of what was going on. I appreciate the fact she made the effort to keep us informed and we did not have to hunt her down or wonder what was going on. Tracy came to us! That was important!
