Tracy Borton RN is our procedure nurse in the JBER Neuro Clinic. She has been complimented countless times for her superior bedside manner. She administers Botox injections to our headache patients. There are at least 20 injections in one sitting. She is very patient and kind, always thinking about the patients' comfort first. She has changed so many lives of these headache patients, so they are pain-free.
She always reviews the FDA protocol site using illustration so patients know they are getting evidenced based headache care. She initiated a headache class to provide headache care to dependent patients who otherwise would not be able to get on-base neuro care.
She always provides the "right" care. She noticed a changing skin lesion on a long time established patient while doing an injection. She pointed it out to the patient and encouraged him to go see dermatology. It turned out the skin lesion was cancerous. The early discovery led to a successful removal.
She is always a team player, going above and beyond her duties to help our technicians (as we are undermanned). She is also always willing to help with regards to cleaning the room and rotating to maintain patient flow.
