Thomas provided a follow-up care phone call to my mother, following discharge from the hospital. While on the phone, my mother became unresponsive due to a rupturing aneurysm. Thomas stayed on the phone and called for medical help. Because of his quick thinking and commitment, my mom made it to the hospital in time for emergency surgery. While ultimately, she did not survive the after-effects and recover from surgery, Thomas's quick actions and critical thinking gave us the time to see our mother, spend time with her, tell her we loved her, and be by her side in her final moments of life. In our opinion, Thomas demonstrated the highest level of competency and critical thinking in an emergency and went above and beyond in this situation. He gave a priceless gift to our family and we are profoundly grateful.
