The nomination that was received detailed a patient's story of interactions with T.K. Hodges over three different hospital stays. The patient wrote of how T.K. helped her both physically and emotionally and how her attentive presence gave great comfort that everything was going to be okay during her first stay. After the patient left the hospital the first time, T.K. took the time to stay in touch, which gave her great comfort. During the patient's second stay at the hospital, she was not on T.K.'s unit, but T.K. still found the time to visit the patient and offer comfort. On the third visit, T.K. served as the patient's nurse over three days. The patient stated, "All this time she was the positive influence including walking, pain meds, info on when the doctor would arrive, etc. Finally, she even escorted me on a parade walk around so other staff could applaud my release. What a caring, professional, dedicated person this lady is. She truly represents Gulf Breeze Baptist and more than ensures that her actions make the hospital feel like a place where you can feel comfortable - you will get well. Further, her actions make patients feel like they and their families are more than a number, they are important. Let me say all my nurses were exceptional. They all deserve recognition for the trying often stressful situations they must deal with and carry on. But without a doubt TK was/is a winner. "
