Tina is energetic, compassionate towards every patient, kind to the staff, and a wealth of experience and knowledge I can only hope to have a quarter of someday. Recently we had a patient that was 6'5" and over 300 lbs. He was having knee surgery and upon waking up after the surgery he was disoriented and combative. Keeping a patient of that size safe and protecting the staff are of great importance, but Tina swooped in, got close to the patient, made eye contact, addressed him by his name, and gently reminded him where he was while holding his hand. Her simple and kind approach to this patient was all he needed to calm down and relax. He looked up at Tina like she was an angel and truly we all know that she is. Sometimes in medicine, we think that it's the big interventions that can make the biggest differences, but that's not always the case.
