Tina Mitchell is an extraordinary nurse!
Recently, my husband was taken to the ER and was diagnosed with a bacterial infection. We were told it could be fatal. Because of the crowded condition of the hospital, my husband was admitted to the maternity floor where we were welcomed by Tina, who promised, "We are going to have a fun night tonight!"
My husband was not very responsive at this time, but Tina and 3 others, undressed, bathed and got him into his bed. They hooked up his IV, oxygen and monitors and he looked comfortable. I really appreciated how calm, cool and relaxing it was after being in the ER. There was a sofa in the room and I got fixed right up with pillows, sheets, blankets and, then I got a turkey sandwich and graham crackers with peanut butter and Sprite. What a feast for a tired old lady!
Tina was in and out of the room the entire night; always there to help. She was kind, efficient, encouraging and patient. She was THERE! As Tina's shift ended, I hated to see her go, as she had meant so much to us at such a critical time. I thanked the staff over and over and they gave all the credit to God!
All the care we received at NGMC was excellent! Avalee was a huge help to us and a very important member of the team as well. I commend both Tina and Avalee for working together to provide such excellent patient care to an 80-year-old, temporarily confused man, in the maternity section, who would not lie down or be quiet.
They also gave loving care to me and we are so very thankful!
