We'd like to share a recent experience that we had with Tim Yount. Our son, C, who is 16, is scheduled to have spinal fusion surgery. Anyone going through this would have some reservations, but C tends to fear the worst.
We went in for a pre-op appointment and Tim sat with us for several hours of meetings. He explained everything that was going to happen in great detail. Throughout the entire time, he was incredibly upbeat - joking and encouraging. He even insisted that our son would be "pleasantly surprised" at how much better he's going to feel. He joked about old TV shows like the Six Million Dollar Man and the A-Team and was just really relatable.
On the way home, C was surprisingly upbeat - the most positive he's been over this entire ordeal. He said he really liked Tim and was glad he talked with us. Since then, it's changed his entire outlook on the surgery - instead of fearing it, he's now looking at it as a positive.
It's amazing what one person's influence can have on a situation. We really appreciate the dedication and joy that Tim and the rest of your staff bring. It's one reason we've chosen Dayton Children's to do our son's surgery.
