My son was admitted when I found him unconscious at home. He had a massive bleed as we later found out. We were brought to the ICU where Tom was his nurse, he made us feel so welcome and explained everything he was doing. He said no question was too silly and that they don't expect us to know the process and that is what they are there for. He showed respect to our son who was young and now being kept alive for his organ donation. I can't tell you how comfortable he made us feel and we felt our beloved son was in such good hands on his last day here. Tom would tell our son what he was doing even though he could no longer respond to anything.
Our son was our precious boy who passed away too young. He was normal and healthy one day and basically gone the next. For our beloved son, C, on his last days here, we thank Tom for being so kind to us and him. He made the process easier by explaining everything. He would come and ask if we needed anything and more importantly never made us feel as if we had been a bother, a special nurse, and person. He was much appreciated by us and we will never forget him.
