Therese started as support staff on the Behavioral Health Unit for years, and she worked hard to become a Registered Nurse while she was caring for patients in our unit. She went through our own nursing new graduate program here at Good Samaritan, and last year became a Nurse Clinician II.

She builds lasting relationships by establishing special connections with patients and families. They remember her from taking care of them compassionately years ago as support staff. They ask for her and remember her when they call. Recently she helped a patient's family member through service recovery for lost dentures. In the past, I've asked her questions about care of specific patients from years ago and she remembers them very well.

She demonstrates exemplary service and commitment to excellence in teaching new nurses documentation in CareConnection in the orientation process through the Education Center. She has served on shared governance initiatives to promote a positive associate and patient engagement through her efforts at promoting events, making badges for Food for Friday for the Food Pantry. She excels at nursing initiatives, including participating as a super-user on the CareConnection for Behavioral Health Services’ system team, serving as an instructor and superuser for IView, for Care Mobile teaching, by working extra shifts to cover the unit's nurses as they learn new equipment.

She promotes service recovery and follows through with all attempts to engage the patient and family in compassionate and excellent care. She works to provide the best service possible and goes out of her way for families to provide dementia education and ongoing resources. She is an outstanding role model for all of the nursing community--especially for young nurses everywhere!
