Terry was nominated by a co-worker whose family member was critically ill and in the ICU. Terry was not the nurse for the patient that night, however, he was on shift and had spoken with the family member earlier in the evening. They spoke about the patient, his family and his great faith in God. Later in the evening, when it seemed that the patient would not make it through the night, Terry came in with the patient's nurse to help re-settle him in bed. At the moment the nurses came into the room and got to the bedside, it appeared that the patient was passing away right then. The family members were, of course, struck with grief, but noticed that Terry was very Present in that moment. He stood at the bedside and rubbed his hand over the patient's arm and chest and spoke to him, telling him that he was safe, his family was with him and most of all, that he was going to be with Jesus - not to be afraid. The family member wrote that those words gave her such comfort in that moment, even though they were intended for the patient.
