Terry Green joined the University Campus ED in November of 2011. In the short time that he has been here, he has demonstrated superior clinical skills and is also an exemplary team player. He can competently care for a team of sick ER patients and will still remain attuned to the situations the nurses along side of him are dealing with. He is willing to pitch in and "have their back" when needed. He has extremely high expectations of himself and holds his team mates accountable to equally high standards.
This is one example of the care that Terry delivers: The ED Clinical Practice Specialist rounded with Mrs. H one evening and received the following feedback: She received tPA. She was not able to move her right arm & has weakness on her right leg when she came in. She is able to raise raise her right arm up and was walking today with assistance. She is singing praises to the ED staff for the excellent & expeditious care she received. Mrs. H told me that Terry Green was her wonderful nurse who allayed her anxiety & stayed with her the whole time from 9am-4pm. Terry also visited her in the ICU & 6E which was greatly appreciated by the whole family. She’s going to a rehab facility in the morning but wanted to thank everybody who took care of her that day.
The above example is just one of many comments we receive about Terry. He is a humble person and does not like to be praised because he has such high standards and to him this is "just what he does". However I think it is time to recognize Terry for outstanding care and service.
Terry openly communicates to leadership to ensure that we are aware of the successes and the opportunities for improvement. As a Manager, this is very much appreciated because the open communication allows the leadership team to recognize our high performers and to be aware of opportunities for improvement. Terry expects the department he works in to be as exemplary as he is and because of his high standards, others are inspired to achieve and improve our results.
