Teri was the first person to see me when I arrived at your emergency room and practically the last person I saw before I was transferred to the hospital in Bangor. You can check my math, but I figure that adds up to a 17-hour workday if she started the moment I saw her Wednesday morning. That's just brutal but, through it all, Teri was my Nightingale.
From the time she helped me through the admittance paperwork to the time so early Thursday morning when she inquired "Do you remember me?", she was quite simply a wonderful human being, whether setting my mind at ease with small talk about home remedies, checking my vitals and my IV drip or bringing me another cup of ice water.
You are so lucky to have her on your staff. If I could take her with me, I would. I feel very fortunate myself in that my illness was only a serious case of blood poisoning, from which I have fully recovered, and not a heart attack. And I wish to thank all of the doctors and nurses who cared for me so well during my stay at Waldo County General Hospital. But I will single out Teri Blackadar for special attention, simply because she is so special. If anyone ever deserved this award, it is she.
