Tekeia is a beautiful angel who was so good to W and me on March 1st at around 6:50 pm. Tekeia had been with us all day for whatever we needed. She came in and did bedside report as she was getting ready to go home. At 6:55pm W's sister called and told him that his mother was unresponsive and was going to the ER. I ran out of the room and down the hall. I saw 3 people and told them that I needed help. I told them what had happened and that W was leaving. They went down the hall before I got to W's room. I saw Tekeia walk out of another room. I said "there you are, W needs you to run back into his room". W was upset and was leaving to go to his mother no matter what. She got him back to bed and talked to him. He was here with chest pain and she knew he did not need to be upset. She calmed him down and stayed with him until she knew he was going to be OK. She stayed long after her shift was over to sit with him and talk to him. She was so sweet and caring. She talked with me after helping to calm my husband down. I will never forget her. This hospital is very blessed to have such an awesome nurse in Tekeia. It was a relief for both of us and we couldn't thank her enough for making that difference.

Tekeia Ward has been my nurse on 2 stays in this hospital. She always makes a special connection with the patient and family. She goes above and beyond her call of duty.

She helped me with my sickness each time I was in the hospital on the 4th floor. She always made me feel more comfortable with the situation with what was wrong. She always told me about each medication I was taking that she was giving me. She helped to make my stay easier. She gave me and my family comforting words when they told me I had cancer. She deserves the DAISY Award for her kind deeds.
