I was a patient at Centennial Hospital for almost one month. Tatiana Anaya was one of the most genuinely caring people I came across at Centennial Hospital and I am a very high strung person with very high standards. Tatiana was there when I was at my lowest. One morning right before one of my surgeries I had to shower prior to the procedure. Luckily, Tatiana was my nurse that morning and my husband and daughter were not there yet. Needless to say I was crying like a big baby having a melt down from still being in pain from my first surgery and having to take a shower by myself. Tatiana looked at me and said "Can I hug you?" with the most wonderful sincere look on her face, I said yes and we hugged and cried together. It was such a wonderful feeling to have a nurse that so deeply cared for her patients and for that I sincerely thank her. Great things happen to great people and I truly wish that for her.
On my way to surgery while I was being wheeled away, Tatiana came running, held my hand really tightly and said "it's going to be okay" and I will come by and visit you in ICU. After my surgery I was placed in ICU and as I woke up Tatiana visited me as promised. She was so happy that the surgery went well. At that point I knew she was the most deserving individual for the DAISY Award. My husband walked out into the corridor and said that she had tear-filled eyes and that I made her cry again.
Thanks again. You are truly doing God's work.
