Tara made sure to get footprints from a baby before being transferred so that they could be placed at the bedside and she also made sure to get pictures of the baby on mom's phone.
This past month, Tara was floated to Mother/Baby due to low census in the NICU. There were 2 nurses left in the NICU working. We ended up having a STAT C/S for a 30-week mom who had placenta abruption. Tara got wind of this and she immediately came to the NICU to help without being asked, even though she had a full patient load in Mother/Baby. Because of this, she demonstrated excellent teamwork and collaboration.
After the delivery, the baby was to be flown to TMC and the mom was to be transferred to ICU. During the chaos, Tara took the time to think about what she could do to make a difference for this mom who would wake up having never gotten a chance to see her baby. Tara made sure to get footprints from a baby before being transferred so that they could be placed at the bedside and she also made sure to get pictures of the baby on mom's phone. Tara really went above and beyond not only for her team but for our patients as well.
