Tammi Cloyd, RN on the 6 Center Telemetry Unit, “made Christmas happen” for a co-worker’s family during a very rough time. Being a nurse isn’t just about the care you give your patients, it’s also about caring for each other! Tammi’s co-worker, Kim, shared her story:

“Tammi is a very caring and special person. The week before Christmas, my house was broken into and robbed and all of my Christmas gifts were stolen, as well as other items taken from my home. I was devastated and didn’t know what I was going to do, as I had purchased things for my family as well as my grandchildren. Tammi took it upon herself, when hearing of my plight, to purchase a large amount of gifts for my grandchildren so they could have a wonderful Christmas. She has such a generous and giving heart, and I could never repay her for her kindness.

She expresses that same generosity and kindness and compassion when taking care of her patients. She also is always very professional and respectful to her patients as well. Her nursing skills go beyond patient care. She embodies the kind of nursing that St. John stands for, and I am grateful and proud to know her. I believe that Tammi is so deserving of this award.”
