... Overall the medical care we received was excellent; however, I would like to recognize Lt Tahesha German for her outstanding professionalism and exceptional personal nature which went far above and beyond anything expected.

I arrived for induction on Lt German was my nurse and was very attentive and nurturing. Her manner was key because I was very nervous about the induction. She took time to answer all my questions and reassured me that all would be well and she instantly comforted me. Her sensitivity and warmth made for a personal touch as if my own sister had came to care for me, consequently, the induction process became less stressful. Her empathy for me was admirable considering she deals with labor and delivery every day, whereas I was experiencing it for the first time. She was my nurse the following day as well and to both of our surprise, I had still not progressed when her shift was over that afternoon. Lt German said she would come by the following day, her day off, to come meet our baby. When she arrived, on the morning of the third day, I still had not progressed. Within minutes, Lt German had changed from civilian clothes to her scrubs and said she wanted to stay with me until I delivered. I was shocked that she chose to stay with me on her day off. This was an act of generosity unlike any other, and I am forever touched that she selflessly volunteered to be with me for the delivery. She stayed by my side for the entire delivery. I pushed for two hours with her and my husband's encouragement and by 16:13, I had a baby girl. Lt German was my angel and was a huge part of the success of my delivery. I wish I could find all the words to express just how much she meant to me and how the memory of the birth will forever include Tahesha German.

I think Lt. German is an exceptional example for all nurses to follow. Having her as a part of your medical team shows off your squadron. Any patient who gets to spend her care with Lt. German is lucky to have her and I will never forget her. After delivery I had severe preeclampsia and stayed an extra eight days between labor and delivery and postpartum wards.

I would like to thank you for providing the leadership needed to run such a wonderful group. I am grateful for the medical team that was there for me and my baby during our eight-day stay. I know the treatment and care I received was unparalleled. I am home recovering well and feeling wonderful.
