I was taken to Emanuel Medical Center for an overdose on my meds. I was there for 4 days and I needed to feel safe, well taken care of. I felt out of place and never received any info about my condition or what happened to me. Then I was told I was being moved to Doctors Medical Center. As soon as I got there, everyone was greeting me and asking me if I needed anything. Then I met one nurse "Suze"; the sweetest, kindest, most helpful nurse I have ever met. Suze right away gave me info on what happened to me and explained it all to me too. She really made me feel like I was getting the help I needed. She made me feel like she really cared about what happened to me. She made my stay in the hospital so nice, that I felt like I was home. She talked to me like we were friends forever; she got me to tell my whole story about what was going on in my life and why I had an overdose. She made sure I had all the resources for when I got out of the hospital to be safe. I had been in Emanuel Hospital 4 days where I felt scared, out of place, and I didn't want to talk to anyone about my problems. As soon as I got to Doctors Medical Center, I felt safe and as soon as I met Suze I knew I was in good hands; I believe she was my angel for those few short days. Without her I don't know how I would have come out. She did her job and beyond to make sure I felt safe and I knew everything that happened to me could be fixed. Thank you Suze for your expertise, extraordinary compassionate care.
