Sue DeRousse is a very experienced and confident nurse in many areas of health care. She is currently working in the operating room as a circulating /scrub nurse. In the past she has held nursing positions in labor and delivery and plastic surgery. She is always willing to share her knowledge with patients, families and colleagues. Sue has the qualities one would look for in a DAISY Award Honoree, she is dedicated to her profession and compassionate to everyone she meets. She is a positive inspirational caregiver. On many occasions I have seen her transform her patient's fear into a casual conversation about what college they will be attending in the fall, or who is their favorite princess. Sue has that special talent of making her patient's feel more relaxed in unfamiliar surroundings and she the same for all of her coworkers too. We fondly refer to her as our counselor or therapist. She takes very good care of us all! She is kind hearted and has a way of helping you sort through a problem while comforting you at the same time. She listens with her heart, whether your child is going off to college for the first time or a friend has a serious illness. These are just a few things that make Sue special to us. Sue is also a very spiritual person and extends her kindness to her community by reaching out to those in need. As you can see Sue is an extraordinary nurse and individual.
