Our OR charge nurse/supervisor recently had an unexpected death in the family. Susan is our manager, and she has taken on the role of charge while doing the necessary job requirements of her own job for weeks. She is doing a great job. She is clearly busy but does not allow any frustration or exhaustion show in her work or in the way she interacts with her staff. She should be thanked and commended for a job well done.

This is our busiest time of year. What Susan has accomplished in these weeks is nothing short of amazing. We are thankful she is willing and able to jump into a role alongside her staff when the going gets tough. She is quite the leader.

The surgery staff have been grateful and have given grace to one another during this challenging time as a unit. Our OR charge nurse/supervisor has a very specific and important job. To replace him, especially this time of year is no easy task. We will be glad to see him back. He is very special to our team, but we are thankful that Susan has allowed him time off to grieve with his family not having to worry about his beloved staff here. Thank you, Susan, for your dedication to work/life balance for her team.
