I was blessed to be a part of the Memorial Hermann family two years ago. Ms. Suma was initially my Preceptor. She would always boost my confidence as an RN with her positive approach and constructive criticism. I do still remember that night shift where I just got off orientation and I had a patient that had coded. Ms. Suma was my team leader that night, and she was calm and composed and got the team running efficiently during the chaos. I personally felt a relief whenever Suma's name was there on the assignment as I knew our team would have a safety net with her on board.
As a co-worker, I admire her willingness to go over and beyond for her coworkers when in need. Whenever Suma is the charge nurse for the shift, she just does not order around but helps her staff with the workload and runs the shift smoothly even if she has to go to all the rapid responses and code blues in the hospital.
Ms. Suma is an excellent collaborator with the unit committees. She is a team player and provides valuable insight and expertise in a difficult situation. She is highly respected by all her team members. I personally have found her to be dependable, efficient, and unfailingly punctual. Her skills when it comes to inserting IV'S or Art lines is remarkable. She goes out of her way to help her coworkers every shift. She projects a warm, cheerful attitude to her clients as well as to her staff. She tries her best all the time to lift the spirits of those around her in a chaotic environment or situation. I believe these characteristics represent all that is good in our Memorial Hermann family.
