I would like to let it be known that my family and I are eternally grateful for your skill, compassion, and professionalism. My son was admitted to your floor in 2016. He spent five weeks in the ICU and thanks to you he has made a full recovery! I've never used the word "Miracle" in my entire life, as much I have this past year.
My son D was riding his motorcycle through Killeen, Texas when a pick-up truck pulled in front of him, critically injuring him. The Killeen Fire Department and EMTs did outstanding work stabilizing him and getting him to the emergency room an hour away, at Baylor Scott White-Temple. There, he underwent five surgeries in a 24-hour period and needed 34 pints of blood. The staff, doctors, and nurses did an outstanding job giving my son a chance to fight for his life.
From there he went to the third-floor STICU where he spent five weeks, and I witnessed the finest group of professionals do what they were born to do. Gratitude is defined as thankfulness, this does not begin to cover it. No words can convey the depth of appreciation my family has for the doctors, nurses, and staff of the ICU.
The skills, professionalism, commitment, and intuition the entire staff displayed is beyond description. The whole crew operates in rarefied air! The first three weeks were touch and go, but the staff made the possible seem plausible, and it was done with positivity from everyone. When I looked you in the eyes, it was you that helped me keep the faith and hope. My gratitude to you all forever!
My son D has made a full recovery! He is 100% mentally, physically and spiritually by the grace of God and the skills of the professionals of the third floor ICU I am witness to the fact you all are "God's hands here on Earth!"
Please see the book of signatures that many of you were kind enough to sign while caring for my son.
From our entire family; D's mother, his brother, sister, and myself, we thank you with all of our hearts.
