Dear Steve,
Almost three months ago I had the great fortune to meet you, along with Dr. F. The occasion was less than ideal, but the compassion and care you showed me was something I will always remember.
On that day, I brought myself to the ER with a mysterious sensation on my left side. The lack of real pain and normal blood work prompted a CT scan that revealed a tumor on my pancreas. You both broke the news to me and provided the space for me to breathe...and I was then able to surrender to your guidance on the next steps. It feels like a lifetime has passed in the last three months, so I'll skip to the good part.
I had surgery to remove 40% of my pancreas, with the golf ball-sized tumor fully encased...and it was benign! I am back to work with preschoolers and back on the dance floor! Most of all, I'm trying to take the best care of myself because everyday matters. Thank you for being in my path that day! Go Broncs!
