When my husband and I arrived at NEA Baptist we were greeted with a warm smile who introduced herself as Stephanie and she would be my husband's nurse. My husband has been in severe pain for sometime now and Stephanie went the extra distance to make sure he was comfortable and met all his needs. She did not rush in and out of the room like so many nurses do. She was very thorough in her care.
My husband has many illnesses and has been in and out of hospitals many times. When he is blessed to have someone as compassionate and caring as Stephanie, he is appreciative that he got a good one.
Another thing that will always stick in my mind is Stephanie humming a song as she worked. That tells me she loves her job. It's been a long time since I have heard anyone humming as they worked. A simple pleasure which is truly missed. It sure brightened my day after many sleepless and stressful days.

Stephanie is truly a Godsend! I am sure that each and every person that must come through the ICU will be blessed with good health after leaving the unit because of the extraordinary care Stephanie is giving to patients. She is not only the most caring and knowledgeable nurse I have ever had as a patient, but her appearance reflects a very caring person that strives to be a professional, class nurse—it fits her very well. She definitely deserves the DAISY Award!
Stephanie is a nurse to remember, I am a 66 year old female admitted to the ED with some heart problems. My father passed in March at age 88. He was a patient here at NEA many times and I have been a patient here and several other hospitals in previous years and cared for by many nurses with great skills, but I feel that Stephanie has shown not only her professional skills as a nurse but so much more as a human being that truly cares about the patient as a whole.
I wish my dad could have met Stephanie, he would have experienced a wonderful content feeling knowing that she really cared. I ask from the bottom of my heart that you please consider this nurse for the DAISY Award. As she has made my stay here at NEA hospital as enjoyable as going to the Bahamas haha. I have never been to the Bahamas but will be sure to come back here in the future, and when I do I hope Stephanie is standing in the door. Sincere appreciation.
