After a very tough night, Steph came in and handled everything so I could finally relax. I'm so grateful that she was recognized as a competent preceptor because she is very articulate, bright, compassionate and incredible at setting an extraordinary example to her colleagues on time management and patient care.
With true compassion she helped me feel calm, safe and truly in an extraordinary manner, know on a cellular level things would work out and I would be okay. Even though I have several complex and time consuming medical conditions she took the time to clearly communicate in a way I could understand and said words that will impact me forever. She separated me from my illness and said: "it's not you, it's not your fault".
Stephanie made a pivotal and monumental, life-long impact that lifted so much heartbreak and trauma helping me realize that regardless of my medical conditions they do not define me. I am who I am, not what I have. For all this and more Stephanie deserves to be honored with the DAISY Award.
